Last hurrah of the weekend was down by the lakefront for Cindy and Dave who at first were rained out, then steamed out last weekend and were rewarded for their patience with not only a perfect late summer evening, but a continued soundtrack from Mexican Fiesta taking place a couple of hundred yards away. Which was nice. Kind of. What was nice however was getting to spend some time with these guys and their impeccably well-behaved furry entourage... plenty of scrambling over rocks, walking in large circles and lots of sitting and leaning while they got their GQ on, in very impressive fashion... Final run of the weekend began in the fifth ward with the lovely Abby & Dan, in town for the weekend from out in VA, so naturally a derelict warehouse was a great place to start..easing past in the stolen bike in the bushes and the ..ahem.. 'decorations' on the loading dock they hit their stride and were rewarded with a train that went faster than 3mph for me, a quick trip into an alleyway before heading over to the HD museum for more GQ'ing, and off to dinner to celebrate..thankfully not too long to wait to see these guys again!.. Off to Lakeshore Park for part two of the afternoon and a date with Courtney and Tony... after a bit of a walk-around and a strike by my big light we finally got going and did all we could to get onto every available surface in the area.. boulders, decks, bridges, prairie.. had a run in with LSP's resident vulpine who was doing his own shoot a few yards away and being paid in sandwiches...but yeah, drink in the summer vibe with these two because the next time you see them will be in the depths of a Wisconsin winter, and there's a solid chance that they'll be in three layers of clothes in four feet of the white stuff... You could be mistaken for thinking that Missy & Danny had a lot of modelling experience, but despite constantly asking them if they did, or if they'd spent a few hours on Sunday morning practising posing and being told no every time, we can only come to the conclusion that they're either not telling the truth, or that they're just naturally great working the camera and they missed their true calling because I can't even remember working with a couple who fell in to poses so well.. and so it went as we did a tour of the Marsupial bridge in the middle of the afternoon dodging yoga groups, cyclists and random wanderers as they continued to kick ass for me... looking forward to seeing what another year of not practicing does for them and their casino wedding next year!.. Starting off on the north end of picturesque Bradford beach, we headed into the creepy bushes to get to the fragrant shoreline of majestic Lake Michigan where the gorgeous Sarah & Brenden made their long-awaited modeling debut... then off to the nearby dune garden before a quick peep show by the side of the road and on up to Lake Park.. hung around with the Brigadier General, discussed the finer points of being a collection agent, practiced a little gymnastics and hung out with the wolf spiders before calling it a night and discussing the Puma uniforms that may or not be required attire for the wedding guests... On a day trip from Stevens Point which included an epic suit fitting and some light antiquing, a trip to the Fifth Ward saw Bailey & Austin's modelling debut at the dirtiest warehouse in town, strolling around the train tracks and numerous questionable brick walls, disturbing a parking attendant who obviously had no business being where he was given how he peeled out of there, discussions of when it suitable to lick the bar and an American Gothic recreation with a filthy mop..pretty much just your average Friday afternoon jaunt with Stevens Point's most kickass couple... and don't worry guys, the panhandler got me too... Part deux for the evening it was off to meet the fabulous Heather and Will, impeccably dressed for a tromp through the woods at Whitnall Park... with the amount of walking, Heather deserves serious props for negotiating the terrain in those cute little heels.. though hiking boots would hardly have worked with the gorgeous floof of a skirt bought specifically for the twirling and dipping courtesy of Will.. the easy flow of their modelling debut came to a screeching halt with the organized chaos of the cameo appearance of Margot and Brewer at the end where much wrestling and pooping was involved, which hopefully isn't a premonition of the wedding reception... With her ankle now bionic and Pete's cold in the rear-view, it was off once again to the grotty & gritty old warehouse on Water, this time at Amanda's request for a quick romantic tetanus tour complete with a potentially stolen car with a body inside. A curiously uncooperative sun did it's best to unsettle my chi as we dodged broken glass, broke through a chainlink fence and discussed wide-ranging topics such as hookah-roulette at the reception...can't wait to see these guys again in a few short weeks.. Round two for the day took us to the balmy Bradford beach...always beautiful in December...if you squint...which you probably do thanks to the cutting wind...but aside from that and the crashing waves it's gorgeous... not as gorgeous as Sarah & Matt however, who laughed their way through the entire shoot, blew a few kisses, only snotted on each other a couple of times and didnt whine as I dragged them across the beachfront before retiring up to Lake Park where lions were not mounted and a brigadier general's horse was not used to crack open a couple of bottles...because nothing says class like drinking beer in the park on a Sunday morning...Sarah & Matt.
