The last stop on their Wisconsin Weekend tour saw Chicago-natives Morgan and Coley bring their brilliance to Milwaukee's Fifth Ward, starting off on Florida, we (or I) destroyed some of the carefully cultivated flora to kick off, before giving up on the slowest moving train in the world before finding an alley to hang out in, finding one of the most profound piece of graffito ever known to man or beast... minds blown and truly inspired, it was off to the Harley Davidson museum down the road for a quick tour of the grounds... lots of standing around in grass and up against walls before a quick nap on the grass...yep. Make Stuff. Words to live by Morgan & Coley. Engaged. from Steve Bowman on Vimeo.

The second part of Sunday's double-header was a hook-up with the delightful Brittany & Justin at a blustery Bradford beach...starting on the agility-testing narrow beach risking equipment and sock-dryness the nervous laughter was a great start as they found their epic-legs with some fortuitously set up tableaus under the heavy sky, a splash of lake autumn sun in the pricky grass before heading off to t'other end, some rocks and finally to Veterans Park, a short delay for the slowest moving geese in the world and a bed of leaves to wrap things up... Before starting up on this one, Rachel and Nate stopped for shots... not that any dutch courage was needed for this lovely pair out of Kenosha... although come their wedding next August I might need a little, as their wedding party promises to match or exceed my much-storied experience from her sister's wedding a couple of years back...man, that's a lot of Kenosha right there... but if anyone deserves an army of a bridal party it's these guys who made quick work of the MIAD loop, and after a quick change headed to a back alley to finish up... just need to make sure Nate watches where he's going on the wedding da so he doesn't wreck Geneva with head butts... Under a leaden sky and stiff lakefront breeze, the adorable Steph and Pete put their modelling skills to the test...barely a year after we last ran into them at a friends wedding, they proved not to be too rusty at all and pretty much nailed it.. not being put off by the rock-climbing, periodically having an audience including a fox or complex direction of what to do with feet.. happily its only a few short weeks before you'll be seeing them again, when 50 degrees will look positively tropical against their winter wedding.... Off down the road to the second shoot of the evening to one of my favourite spots for the gorgeous Lory and Kegan where the conversation began with the bloating habits of vegetables and with Kegan's make up (the two were unrelated) then navigated around the beautiful National warehouse...climbed on a few loading docks, around semi-trailers, miniature and wire fences and avoided another shoot-in-progress before coming face-to-face with a questionable pack of Fifth Ward dogs including a really feisty little Maltese who wasn't the slightest bit impressed with what was going on... The first of a Fifth Ward double header kicked off with Ashley & Ross by the remainder of Tom Selek's head on a wall with the opening conversations covering everything from Blades of Glory to Moobs before wandering around the back of the warehouse through a wind tunnel to a spot that no longer exists.. not to be deterred, we found a loading dock and photo-bombed a rap video for 10 minutes, waited for a train that only teased before finishing off in a great alley way with a door 20ft off the ground... thank fully not long to wait to see these guys again... After an afternoon of miscommunication, it was finally decided to just go for it with Melissa & Eric despite the radar forecast... I mean it might not rain right? As it turns out, we were wrong, so just as we were shaking hands and catching up the typhoon rolled in... hauling gear and bags into the parking structure we hid on and off, rearranged posters in elevators, utilized numerous props including their pup Carson, some champagne and also a single round balloon (who made a very lacklustre attempt at escape) and just as we were wrapping up, the rain decided it'd had enough and stopped... so just to spite it we kept going another half hour... all in all a great improvised session.. can't wait to see these guys again in September...
