After Irene & Tony were snowed out a couple of weeks ago, we reconvened this afternoon for a second run at it at my favourite borderline-dangerous derelict warehouse. For added fun, the whole place was coated in thick sheets of ice, so we tottered around like a small gang of GQ octogenarians.. surprisingly no one biffed it, and their composure was impeccable, as were their innate skills on their modelling debut.. one can only hope that the weather will be more balmy for their wedding in a few short months and they can really stretch their legs..

Shivering under the early November lake front sun, the much rescheduled engagement session for Ellie & Travis finally happened... that it was worth waiting for...bit of an understatement, right? Ths slideshow could have been 3 days long... In addition to curbside modelling crash-courses, the family shoot from a couple of years ago really paid off as we navigated O'Donnell Park and across the lawn of the Art Museum with such halcyon memories as the delightful fragrance of the stairwells, huge surges of inconvenient traffic, grabby bushes and the slowest moving Southwest flight ever...Ellie & Travis. So we trailed around the Commerce Street bridge with Meredith and Rob and Meredith's shoes for Engagement Pictures part deux, starting off around the back of a towing company, (because nothing says love like profane graffiti), stood against a few walls, kissed a whole lot, laughed a whole lot more in a small patch of grass then finally onto the bridge proper only to be serenaded from down below by an anonymous Lothario, dodged a few dogs and biking guys with rolled up pants, found the highlight of the night, Tom Selleck doing his best Something About Mary, then past Homer Simpson, up the conspicuous stairs with the questionable audience, and finally up on to the hill which overlooking the city with what may have been a body a few yards away. Yep. That was quite a run-on sentence, but then again, it was quite a night with quite a couple...Meredith & Rob. Engaged. from Steve Bowman on Vimeo.

The real star of the session isn't the Milwaukee Art Museum.. it's not even the fact that Lisa & Greg only moved across country to Milwaukee 1am Sunday morning and still they managed to go clothes shopping, perform great feats of arts & crafts for shoes & flowers, sleep on an air mattress and still look so stunning in their private brdal portrait session... no, the star of the shoot is indeed Dress #1 who elevated the sumptuous environs and couple to heights unknown... it can even scale railings... though I'm really excited to see these guys again in November I tell you...I can't wait to see what Dress #2 can do...Lisa & Greg. I'm used to being envious as I post slideshows as newlyweds are often jetting off to tropical climes, however this one I'm not green about at all, as this pair of Marquette students are off to class this morning, as I lounge in the office with my feet up on the coffee table.. That said, when you study rocket science and the business of rocket science, it's easy to see why classes may be more appealing to head off to. Celebrating their last gasp of freedom from academic pursuits last night at the lake front however, Denise's GQ was unflappable with a modelrific partner who may have been Peter, or may have been a $10 ringer from Craigslist.. either way, while we may all be wowed with their latent modeling skills, the geese certainly were not.Denise & Peter. Taking a break from their weekend by the lake to take pictures by the lake, we met up along with their pup Reggie, and put Kristina and Ryan through their paces.. taking in such glamorous locations as the O'Donnell parking garage before heading down by the lake, dodged a few pedal cars, lounged around on the grass, climbed a few hills and buildings and generally marveled at Kristina & Ryan's particular brand of kick-assery...Kristina & Ryan. Beautiful afternoon to head down to Bay View for a peaceful afternoon... what? It's the Bay View Frolic this weekend? Hundreds of sweaty south side denizens are showing too much flesh and listening to country music? And they've shut down the beach? And it's hotter and drier than Ghandi's sandal? Psht.. no problem.. we'll make it work.. Stephanie & Tristen are too awesome not to.. I mean look at how kick ass they made a patch of shade, a pumping station and a public bathroom look.. dress these guys in a burlap sack and they'd still look good...Stephanie & Tristen.
