There is zero exaggeration involved when I say this has been a monumental feat of scheduling to get the gorgeous and elusive Kendell & Blake in front of the camera, but all of that disappointment was totally worth it as the latest wash-out turned out to be a kick ass afternoon of weather for a kick ass couple, (even though I almost stalked down a random couple before they arrived).. with Kendell's unruly hair for nourishment thanks to the wind, their debut modelling session proved to be a complete win, so much so that random people were taking their pictures... and the best part of it all is that because this session took so long, it's only a few weeks until they'll be back here again.. can't wait.. Hauling out to Poynette again for the wonderful Mindy & Mitch who laughed their way through their soggy engagement session last fall.. thankfully no rain for them this time despite the best threats from the NWS as not only were they blessed with a beautiful warm spring day to sign away their lives to one another, but I was blessed with my first sunburn of 2015... after Mindy received "The Gift Of Mitch" much kickassery was to be had around the barn with both beers and nails being hammered aplenty before settling down for beer, dinner, speeches and rapping, topped off with more beer and dancing and a last minute night time portrait session where we learned than in a race between my camera's autofocus in the dark and Mitch's back while holding a dip, my camera definitely almost broke Mitch... Last time we saw Kristin & Jim we were fighting off snowfall, happily spring sprung nicely for them yesterday, nature cooperating nicely for their gorgeous wedding kicking off in Oconomowoc and ending up for the party in Pewaukee... happily for me, my Star Wars wedding duck was broken with a Star Wars send off down the aisle, complete with lightsaber-armed groomsmen (thanks to a midnight Walmart run) and a few stormtroopers sliding around the dancefloor... On a day trip from Stevens Point which included an epic suit fitting and some light antiquing, a trip to the Fifth Ward saw Bailey & Austin's modelling debut at the dirtiest warehouse in town, strolling around the train tracks and numerous questionable brick walls, disturbing a parking attendant who obviously had no business being where he was given how he peeled out of there, discussions of when it suitable to lick the bar and an American Gothic recreation with a filthy mop..pretty much just your average Friday afternoon jaunt with Stevens Point's most kickass couple... and don't worry guys, the panhandler got me too... Part deux for the evening it was off to meet the fabulous Heather and Will, impeccably dressed for a tromp through the woods at Whitnall Park... with the amount of walking, Heather deserves serious props for negotiating the terrain in those cute little heels.. though hiking boots would hardly have worked with the gorgeous floof of a skirt bought specifically for the twirling and dipping courtesy of Will.. the easy flow of their modelling debut came to a screeching halt with the organized chaos of the cameo appearance of Margot and Brewer at the end where much wrestling and pooping was involved, which hopefully isn't a premonition of the wedding reception... With her ankle now bionic and Pete's cold in the rear-view, it was off once again to the grotty & gritty old warehouse on Water, this time at Amanda's request for a quick romantic tetanus tour complete with a potentially stolen car with a body inside. A curiously uncooperative sun did it's best to unsettle my chi as we dodged broken glass, broke through a chainlink fence and discussed wide-ranging topics such as hookah-roulette at the reception...can't wait to see these guys again in a few short weeks.. If I have to come out of my winter hibernation for anyone, it would be the gorgeous Jessica & Dennis..last seen in the rolling meadows of Waukesha the party was relocated in Grafton, and they were blessed with a perfectly sprung spring day for their nuptials.. kicking off at the Black Swan for the formalities, a quick trip out to get their GQ on, then to a bar and back to the BS for the finale including not only a rousing sing song and Fireball shots for the room during speeches, but an exquisite, absolutely kickass serenade for their first dance... they set the bar really, *really* high for this season.. totally worth my out-of-wedding-shape body being crippled for a few days...wouldn't have it any other way...Jessica & Dennis. The final wedding of the year with the lovely Jenna & Tyler, and quite a fitting close out for this Christmas Extravaganza, starting and ending at the sumptuous Wisconsin Club where the day began with moving furniture and Christmas trees, and ended up with a banging dancefloor and a couple of brothers in drag... throw in some Dickensian carol singers, horses & carriages, Father Christmas, a wedding ceremony and what sounded like a thousand sleigh bells to summon a kiss during dinner and you might have a vague insight into how much fun the day was, and so richly deserved for this kick-ass couple and their wonderful family and friends... A long-awaited return to the Schlitz Audubon center, and an even more eagerly anticipated rendezvous with Steph and Pete who rather unlikely probably had a colder time in their fall engagement session, the balmy December mooting the worries planning for a winter wedding... thankfully they were just as blessed in every other aspect of their big day, surrounded by their wonderful friends and family who gathered late for the ceremony with plenty of audience participation including some ring-warming, lots of cheering for the many ropes the officiant used to tie them up together and a native-american yarn-less cats cradle and some minor carpentry for the happy couple... much better than sitting and singing... not that there wasn't plenty of that when the dancefloor kicked off...
