Having only seen Ashley & Ross a couple of weeks ago I couldn't wait to see them again so soon... now I just wish they were doing it all over again in a few weeks... pretty sure everyone there yesterday (aside from the chair guys that is) thinks the same thing... as storms teased on and off all day, the whole shindig was shifted into the tent, erected in the yard on the shore of Little Muskego... though the rain drowned out the sound system for a bit, Ashley didn't trip on the big rock in the aisle so it was all a wash...she didnt spill spaghetti sauce on her dress either... or at least the photos will say so and after a kickass set of speeches and pictures as the sun dipped the tiny slanted dancefloor was rammed right up until we left... like i said, wish they would do this more often... You know it's going to be a good day when you roll up and Nick and the guys are in the church parking lot in beaters and ball shorts drinking beers already... and after a couple of hiccups including forgetting Jaclyn's bouquet at home, things finally kicked off and just kept getting better.. I managed to overcome some homesickness at the foggy bluffs (and more miraculously no one took a digger clambering over the rocks) before hitting up the bar as we continued on to the reception where the capacity of the Black Swan was tested and utterly defeated under the glory of J & N's fantastic friends and family.. the salubrity continued unabated culminating in one of the most contentious dancefloor tip cup battles i've ever seen... lives were nearly lost.. I almost checked the news this morning to make sure there weren't... many couples talk about what a party their wedding will be.. these guys actually were the real deal... Jaclyn & Nick. Back to one of my favourite spots for the adorable Sabrina & Tyler who found that grocery store dance routines were no match for the infamous 'awkward ten minutes'.. despite this, they soon found their modelling-legs as we navigated nature, pointless bridges, bugs-in-the-eye and soggy cat-tail fields, and before long they were smouldering and climbing on each other in a rather fierce manner... stopping traffic while making out in the middle of the road, it was a long way from those first awkward ten minutes... and they weren't murdered and buried with a telescopic shovel either, so that's a plus... Last time we saw these guys they were climbing on old cars and barns with Dad driving the combine in the background... no combines this time as their awesome family & friends converged on Kewaskum for their nuptials and the after-party in Hartford... highlights from the day involved some emergency laundry on the grooms jacket, a sweaty stop in Richfield for some humid romance in the woods and a brief scream-a-thon during the reception as a bat decided to join the party (ably captured by some stud with a fishing net)...and a *lot* of well used drinking time... Day Two of this weekend's double-header was back in Mil-town for Denise & Peter's out-of-state wedding... well, a destination wedding for almost everyone aside from them with their fabulous friends and family coming from all over the country for the party which kicked off at the epic Gesu... in between we kicked around the MU campus before a quick stop at the ever-fragrant Bradford beach to give the locals an epic display of rock climbing in dresses and straddling in tuxes... before ending up at the sumptuous Renaissance Place which might have broken the season record for the fastest filling dancefloor.. California... Texas... West Bend. One of these is not like the other... because on Friday, only the WB hosted the kick-assery that was Laura and Dustin's wedding. Last seen in the woods of Richfield, I've been lucking to seeing these guys if only to see Dustin's modelling skills in action again, not to mention the gorgeous Laura. Apparently all Dustin needed however was to be surrounded by his buds and dressed up in his blues to see what he was really capable of... after the quaint church ceremony and a quick tour of the cemetery however it was off to the old courthouse for the party complete with line-dancing, which was way better than the usual Wisconsin-staple of the polka.. On to the second shoot of the afternoon and up to Waukesha for Jessica & Dennis... thankfully we didn't reschedule based on the torrential down pour that never happened... starting off with a guest appearance from a rather dapper dog who took his modelling duties very seriously, he then watched his parents from a distance under guidance from Dennis' sister as we navigated the 'big hill', which is no mean feat at the best of times, least of all when recovering from a broken foot and torn toe ligaments.. however both of these guys were boot-free and more than happy to take the man-handling brief seriously...
